Residents who qualify may receive help paying their
utility deposit. This program is a partnership of the Anchorage Urban
League, ML&P and Credit Consumer Counseling of Alaska.
To learn if you qualify
for the Utility Deposit Assistance program, go to ML&P Customer
Service (
1120 East 1st Ave.
) and apply for electric service. Ask about getting assistance to pay
the deposit and you will be referred to the Anchorage Urban League
office. The Urban League staff will ask you to complete a form that
enables them to provide utility assistance and other services.
The Urban League also
helps qualified residents with budgeting, credit counseling, and
referrals to child care providers and children’s programs.
