17 December 2018 Power Pledge Challenge winners! December 17, 2018 By Public Relations General 0 ML&P collaborated with other utilities and energy organizations in Alaska to present the annual Power Pledge Challenge. More than 3,000 students from 128 sixth- through eighth-grade classrooms around the state participated in the challenge, in which middle school science students complete a hands-on activity that teaches them how to calculate their energy usage and reduce their usage at home. This year’s campaign covered the largest geographic area of the initiative to date with students competing for regional and statewide prizes. Power Restored to East Anchorage ML&P Customers All customers affected in this afternoon’s Midtown power outage have been restored to power. Approximately 3,400 customers were affected when the outage began at approximately 12:31 p.m. ML&P Recognizes Fourth- and Fifth-Grade Students in the 2015 PowerSMART Calendar Municipal Light & Power held an art calendar contest for all fourth- and fifth-grade students in Anchorage last fall. The contest was designed for students to share what they know about electrical safety and energy conservation.
